How does it work for Instructors?
GoClass is a powerful tool that allows an instructor to build, edit and manage class sessions. Like for any classroom, the instructor can use resources such as text, notes, media, questions and research tools to build organized and timed lesson plans. It allows you to annotate on images or draw diagrams, share materials and ask questions in the lesson plans with students during class. Furthermore, the app captures results data for formative assessments conducted in class for after-class review.
Create Lesson Plan
Instructors can string together resources in a lesson plan format along with lecture notes and questions for formative assessment through a single app, and then deliver it through the same app. What's more, these lesson plans can be created and modified during class session.
Show
This feature allows the instructor to send materials to individual student devices using the Broadcast feature or project items using the Project feature and by connecting the device to an external projector. While projecting or broadcasting a particular item, the instructor can browse through other items in the lesson on the instructor's device. For instance, the instructor can browse through questions while broadcasting some reading material. Once the students have completed reading, the instructor can then broadcast a relevant question to check students' understanding of the concept. Once the question is answered by all students, the correct answer can be projected along with class results (not individual student results) for further discussion or as student feedback. Here, the instructors can annotate images and the student can receive the annotations in real-time on their devices
Explain
This feature allows the instructor to create lecture notes in relation to the key concepts of the lesson. It enables the instructor to summarize the concept in simple bulleted list that can be projected using a projector or kept as talking points for the instructor's reference as students are going through reading or viewing materials. Another way the instructor can use this feature, is to list out and project homework assignments or give topics and directions for in-class pair or group activities that students can refer to while working on the activity. Here, the instructor can use the Scribble feature to draw diagrams or write equations and broadcast or project the same.
Ask Activity
The Ask feature allows the instructor to create questions that can be administered in class while explaining the lesson concepts. The app gives you instant results so that you can adjust your teaching focus in real time. You can create CYU (check your understanding) questions after introducing a topic, review questions before introducing new concepts or end-of-chapter practice questions. You can choose to project the results to do an error analysis, discuss common misconceptions, or give constructive feedback.
Create Polls
GoClass App allows you to do an instant poll to get students opinion and get them involved in active learning rather than passively listening to the lecture. This feature can also be used for formative assessment and use the results to pace instruction accordingly. Poll results along with results of any questions asked in class can be reviewed in the Reports and Logs section of the web app.

How does it work for Students?
GoClass creates a unique opportunity for students to follow a class at their own pace. Students can study materials shared by the instructor, and interact with text and images using touch interactions such as pinch, zoom, pan, etc. You can use this app to answer in-class questions and review the complete lesson along with logs of your responses after class.
Join Session
Once the instructor starts a class session using GoClass and selects the relevant student roster, students in that class can join the class session through the App on their individual devices.
Interact & Respond
Once the instructor shares reading or viewing materials with the students, the students can interact with the content using all the touch interactions such as zoom, pinch, pan. Students can also respond to questions asked during class through the GoClass App on their device.

The Web App
You can access the GoClass web app through a Web browser using any computer, laptop or tablet device. The Web App allows the instructor to register as a new user and manage all class work. It automatically syncs with the GoClass App on the tablet so that you can access all information from both apps at any time. Students can also register on the Web App and review class work after a session is completed.
Create Lesson Plans
As an instructor using the Web App allows you to manage all your lesson plans from any location or device as long as you have an internet connection. You can create and edit lesson plans more easily. For example, if you save all your teaching resources and materials in one computer at home or at school, you can access the Web App from the same computer and upload relevant materials directly into your lesson plans. Once prepared and saved, you can instantly access this lesson plan from your tablet and take a class session using the same lesson plan on the GoClass App.
Create Student Roster
The Web App allows you to create student rosters so that you can select a particular roster before taking a class session. Student rosters can be created by adding individual names or by creating bulk entries using a .csv file type that lists out names and student IDs. Sample .csv files can be used as a template to create your own. It is important that you create a student roster beforehand because when you start a class session from the GoClass App on the tablet, it will require you to select a student roster that you have created. This helps you to manage multiple rosters and view logs and reports generated based on specific class sessions.
View Logs and Reports
The instructor can view logs and reports of every class session that has been conducted from the Web App. This feature enables the instructors to monitor students' performance and modify their future lessons accordingly.
Create & Manage Profile
This feature allows instructors to create and manage their own profile by stating their name, email address, name of institution. You can also personalize the app by uploading a profile picture.
